Our mission is to design and produce high performance yachts and sportsboats for racing and cruising. Our yachts and boats start at 18ft. We cater for sailing enthusiasts and professionals.

2003
• May – BackmanBoats Ltd was founded in U.K.

2004
• Backman21 – one-design sports boat with canting keel. Development, building of moulds and demo boat tested. Backman21 was introduced to the market at London Boat Show.

2005
• Backman21 was awarded Silver in the competition "European Yacht of the Year 2005". More info...

2006
• April – BackmanBoats AB was founded in Sweden and is the mother company of BackmanBoats Ltd. New management and board formed in Sweden and UK.

Hans started to design boats over 25 years ago. Originated from Sweden where he learnt sailing, sail making and boat design. He moved to England 5 years ago to finalise the Backman21s design. Currently he is working on other innovative designs.
