BACKMAN21 ”BackBeat”
Richard Scarff's Backman 21 "BackBeat" won the first two races in the Sportsboats class on Sunday 8th of October. The ever-popular Hamble Winter Series began last weekend and will run every Sunday until 3rd December. The sportsboat class (White fleet) sail two races per day that last just over 1 hour each. Weather conditions the first day of the regatta offered some sunshine and a gentle breeze as a start that increased to 15 knots during the day. BACKMAN21 TESTED BY SWEDISH YACHT MAGAZINE – BÅTNYTT The test took place in Gothenburg, Sweden mid August by the editor Mats Göthlin and is published in the latest issue of Båtnytt (No.10/2006). The 5 pages review has recognised the Backman21 for what it is, a fast and fun sportsboat with a easy-to-handle canting keel – “to swing is the thing”. ROAD SHOW SWEDEN - BACKMAN21 BackmanBoats are visiting Stockholm and Gothenburg in August offering demo sails on Backman21 for press and customers. The Backman21 will also be racing the regatta "Tjörn Runt" on Saturday 19th Aug amongst a fleet of up to 1,000 boats. STOCKHOLM --

INTERNATIONAL PRESS TESTING BACKMAN21 21 journalists from all over the world tested the Backman21 for two days 6-7th June at Cowes, Isle of Wight, U.K. The event was organised by the British Marine Federation and UK Trade & Investment. The general consensus from journalists when testing Backman21 were very positive. “We were very pleased
with the event, it was fantastically organised and we enjoyed the
